Joint Research at a Shared Location

Mathematics and software development are not only thematically close; the two Fraunhofer Institutes for Experimental Software Engineering and for Industrial Mathematics also share a building in Kaiserslautern and conduct research hand in hand.

Over 700 employees from a wide variety of fields are working at the Kaiserslautern site in close proximity to the campus of the University Kaiserslautern-Landau. The close cooperation with the university makes it possible to combine applied research with an excellent scientific education – from university degree to doctorate.

In order to further strengthen this cooperation, the High-Performance Center for Simulation and Software Based Innovation was established. This is where the expertise of the two Fraunhofer Institutes, the two universities in Kaiserslautern, as well as that of many other partners from industry and commerce, comes together.
